Watercolor Instruction with Artist Ed Hinkley

A note to students: The upcoming Spring 2024 class session, will be the last session here at the 4052 N. Western Avenue Studio Building. Over the Summer I’ll be moving to a new studio space at 4001 N. Ravenswood, which I’ll be sharing with my wife, Laurie Shaman, a ceramic artist. I look forward to seeing you this Spring!

Learn traditional watercolor fundamentals through exercises in color, composition and technique from artist Ed Hinkley. Experimentation with subject and style is encouraged. All levels welcome, 6 students per class.

About the Classes

Ed Hinkley in his studio, students work on projects.

The new student will begin by working toward an understanding of traditional watercolor fundamentals through exercises in color, composition and technique and will be expected to experiment with a wide variety of subject matter and styles, with the goal of ultimately developing and working from their own source material.

About the Instructor

Ed Hinkley is a Chicago native and self taught painter who has been exhibiting in galleries and museums around Chicago and the Midwest for over 30 years. Continue reading »
